Highlights
Molecular Scale Au Nanowires
We reported the first synthesis of
molecular scale Au nanowires (Adv. mater. 2007) by a simple
wet chemical method. Currently we are exploring in
interrogating the transport properties of individual wires and
for possible applications of such wires.
2-D Nanostructures

We have developed morphology diagrams
to predict the conditions under which 2-D nanostructures form.
We have applied these principles to rationalize the
plate-shaped structure of the inorganic part of bone.
Nanoporous Catalysts

By controlled aggregation of nanoparticles in solution
phase, we have developed methods for forming high surface area
catalysts for fuel cell applications
